Brotherhood Winery, Washingtonville, NY, Brotherhood's famous winery tours are memorable for all, whether you are an experienced oenophiile or a casual wine-lover. The National Purple Heart Hall of Honor commemorates the extraordinary sacrifices of America's servicemen and servicewomen who were killed or wounded in combat. The mission of the Hall of Honor is to collect and preserve the stories of Purple Heart recipients from all branches of service and across generations to ensure that all recipients are represented.
Washington's Headquarters State Historic Site, Newburgh, NY, General George Washington's longest stay at a Revolutionary War headquarters occurred in Newburgh (1782-83) at the Hasbrouck family's Dutch-style stone farmhouse. The off-conference site eateries -- which line Main Street beginning just south of Thayer Gate -- feature low prices, "home cooking" and an eat, drink and beat Navy ambiance. This local joint are steps from the South Gate to West Point and serves up pizza, subs, and sandwiches.

The Park Restaurant is just three blocks away from West Point. The menu features eclectic fare served in a friendly environment. For a light meal, opt for a spinach salad or one of the cold salad platters. Sandwich options include burgers, wraps, deli selections and hot open sandwiches. Entrees include shrimp scampi, lemon pepper swordfish, Salisbury steak, smothered chicken and homemade lasagna. Finish your meal with a peanut butter pie or bread pudding.
