The Center for Bronx Non-Profits (CBNP) at Hostos Community College is a convening, training, and resource-sharing space that strengthen
the capacity of local community leaders and non-profit organizations serving the Bronx. The work of the CBNP is Bronx-based and community-
focused. It links Bronx non-profits with resources of all kinds, both in and outside of the borough. Existing and newly developed
CBNP programs focus on building technical skills as well as helping leaders identify opportunities and address challenges confronting
their organizations.

The Center aggregates the services of multiple NYC-based technical assistance providers and furnishes the space, support, and
infrastructure necessary to house and market these services to the borough’s non-profit organizations. A sampling of current and
proposed CBNP activities envisioned by College includes the following:

• Monthly Executive Roundtables facilitated by a partnering technical assistance provider, offering space, mentoring, and
structure to share best practices and provide support for the borough’s non-profit leaders

• “Meet the Grantmaker”-style events at the College targeted
   to the borough’s non-profit community

• Networking events for non-profit executives

• Training sessions on models of organizational change and
  succession

• Training for middle management personnel

• Seminars in community organizing and connecting with targeted,
  under served populations

• Training in foundation research and grant-seeking

• Training in grant-seeking and contracting from city, state, and
  federal sources

• Board training and seminars on governance
